Session 8 Recap: Battle Beneath the Volcano The oppressive heat of the cavern grew sharper as the magma wolf roared its defiance, shards of volcanic rock flying from its molten body. The Natural 1’s stood ready, weapons drawn, resolve tested as fire and stone swirled chaotically around them. The Fight Begins The wolf lunged at Cuervo but missed, its fiery claws slashing through empty air. Cuervo retaliated with a calculated leap into the skies, his gun roaring with precision as he hovered above. Mello, ever resourceful, unleashed the powers of her barnacle-covered dagger, grounding the wolf with a resounding crash. Even as the beast fell, its suffocating aura seemed unnatural, stirring unease among the party. Session 10: Lost to the Sea

The battle raged across the deck as the group faced their own twisted reflections—bloated, waterlogged doppelgängers conjured by the sea hag hunting Kit. Cuervo took to the mast, seeking higher ground, but his drowned counterpart pursued him relentlessly. Below, the battle churned like the sea itself. Porthos shoved Drowned Mello overboard, hitting the water, taking so much damage that she swam deep into the waters. Drowned Porthos lashed out at Blossom with a cursed wave, leaving her skin burning with necrotic decay. Kit, locked in combat with his own reflection, struggled to land a strike. “Take me and let them go.” For the briefest moment, they saw it: the flicker of greed flash across Driatha’s face. A crack rang out like thunder. The dome above them, ancient and delicate, began to split. Magic surged. Driatha’s mouth unhinged like a serpent’s maw. Dark, shadowy tentacles poured out, wrapping around Kit's face and neck. Another sickening crack, this time Kit's neck in the grip of Driatha as his body went limp and above, the arcane sky fractured. They had seconds, maybe less. Freeya dove for the helm on Porthos’s corpse. Mellow uncorked her bottled breath. Another violent crack tore through the dome, and water came rushing in, a wall of force that exploded through the chamber. The temple groaned and trembled as the ocean swallowed it whole. A hundred feet away, the water rose like a beast awakened, beginning to fill the space. A whirlpool formed above, chaotic and unnatural. They scrambled to survive.
