Sessions 1 and 2
Arriving in Solitude for the Festival of The Dragonborn, Iver a Nord, two Khajiit siblings, Ja-Inamie and Lo-Sarrak and Archer an Orc, cross paths. While drinking at the local tavern together, a man approaches the group with peas for help in finding his kidnapped son. He is from Falkreath and explains to the group that his young boy was taken right from his home in the middle of the night. The group travels to Falkreath to conduct further investigations and discovers clues in the child's bedroom of a kidnapping and claims that one man was a potential witness, but has fled to Markarth. They leave for Markarth with the intention of questioning the witness. They find him at the Silver Blood Inn, frightened. After questioning him, they learn that he saw two figures outside of the boys home that night, one with red eyes. He also told them he overheard the figures mentioned Dawnstar. Before any more information could be extracted the man grew scared, saying they were coming for him and thus took a knife to his own throat. The room is suddenly ambushed by Scamps, small Daedric creatures, and the group must defend themselves. They are summoned before the Jarl of Markarth to explain their disruption within his city walls. After explanations, the Jarl dismisses them from his presence and the city walls. Upon leaving, they are approached by a Dumner named Dairen. He explains that he is tracking the Daedric activity that is presenting itself currently in Tamriel and joins the group on their way to Dawnstar.Arriving at Dawnstar, the group learns of an orphanage on the outskirts of the town. They are told the orphanage brings children in, but never adopts them out. The group requests a meeting with the Jarl and learns that he has seen the man running the orphanage frequenting a nearby cave and would like the group to check it out. Inside the cave just outside of Dawnstar they do not find this man, but they do find many large spiders and must dispose of them. After taking care of the spider threat, they discover multiple bodies wrapped in spider silk. They feel that they were sent there on a fools errand by the Jarl, and decide to go to the orphanage to investigate. Inside they find a meager home, with little to no evidence of children living there. They discover a secret door that takes them to a room in the mountain. Inside a man is attempting to sacrifice a boy, and the group is swift in stopping the sacrifice, killing him and freeing the boy. The boy tells them he knows of the child they are looking for. He had been at the orphanage but a few days before he was taken again, he does not know where. With the group becoming angry and demanding an audience with the Jarl in the middle of the night, they are forced to wait an exceptionally long amount of time. During their meeting with the Jarl, he explains that he has been investigating this man and his orphanage for weeks. He is not pleased with them, expressing anger over the group forcing their way into the orphanage, he says their recklessness has impeded his investigation. He tells them they are to go to Helgen, as he recently discovered that the man had been traveling back and forth from Dawnstar to there.
Sessions 3 and 4
The group is planning their journey to Helgen. Before they leave from Dawnstar, Dairen is curious about the body of the man they killed at the orphanage. He wants to examine the body so he approaches a guard about the possibility of seeing it. The guard becomes irritated, arresting Dairen for "asking too many questions" and places him in the Dawnstar jail. While incarcerated, Dairen learns that the body is being kept in one of the rooms in the jail. While the rest of the group attempts to free their companion from jail, Dairen conjures an Earth Atronach, who busts through the wall, ensuring his escape. Before rushing out of the jail, Dairen finds the body and discovers that the man who was running the orphanage was a vampire. As the group runs, grabbing their horses and a few others, the guards begin attacking. Dairen leaves behind his atronach, causing a major distraction allowing the group to leave.
The group arrives at Helgen, which has been uninhabited for hundreds of years. Helgen has been rumored to be haunted and the group immediately begins experiencing strange and frightening situations. Voices, spirits and strange dreams and visions begin to strike fear in the group. While making their way through the abandoned city, they are attacked by a strange Reaper like entity and female spirit. Shaken, the group enters into Helgen Keep to search for more answers.
Sessions 5 and 6
Searching the Keep, the group moves deeper within, looking for answers to the reasons behind the kidnappings and sacrifices, and hopefully, finding the boy. They find a large mistreated wolf, that they take along with them, and a death hound that they must defend themselves against. They find two Vampires who are keeping two prisoners in cages. Through fighting and questioning and searching documents, the group learns that the two are brothers and are following their eldest brother in bringing Molag Bal back to Tamriel. The eldest brother had taken the Jarl of Dawnstars daughter in an attempt to make him comply with using the orphanage as a front for their attempts to appease Molag Bal with their sacrifices. The orphanage is also the site the eldest brother plans to use to open a portal to travel to Coldharbour. The group kills the two vampires and frees the prisoners. One being the daughter of the Jarl and the other, the boy they had been searching for. The group journeys back to Dawnstar, taking the boy back to his father on their way. Upon their return to Dawnstar, they discover the Jarl has been murdered by the eldest Vampire brother. They quickly return to the room within the orphanage and upon arriving there find the eldest vampire brother. They engage in combat, but are unable to stop him from opening a large portal and running through it. In a desperate attempt to stop him, Dairen and Archer both run through the portal to Coldharbour. The portal closes immediately and the group is left two members short.
