The group stands in an empty field in Alinor after having sent the lightning elemental back into the sphere. They ask Ra'Giin about his "experiment," to which he tells them that they were supposed to run away once it formed, but they of course, did not do that. Svaela suggests trying again in order for him to gain the information he needs. Samblar releases the elemental which immediately begins attacking the group as they put as much distance between them and the creature. Ra'Giin is hit and paralyzed by a blast from the creature. Sixx sees Ra'Giin fall and drags him away as far as he can. As they run further away from the sphere, with the elemental chasing, it eventually is sucked back into the sphere once the creature reached 60 feet away from the item.
Over the next two days the group separates in order to take care of personal business. Ephyra does some shopping for components for use in her spells and she gets a crystal ball, chalk and snake toungue. She also gets her shortbow enhanced by a blacksmith. Sal has his necklace enchanted to summon a hawk familiar. Ridil wanders the marketplace of Alinor in search for a blacksmith to enhance his weapons. Rynly purchases weapons and a censer that carries an air elemental. Sixx purchases handaxes and seeks out Svaela for a conversation. He asks her what she knows about Rhys'Von and whether she is indeed still leader of the group or not. Svaela has questions about Rhys'Von for Sixx, she wonders about her appearance while Sixx was a member, but quickly changes the subject. She tells Sixx that the group needs him, and that Rhys'Von needs to die but she doesn't know where the Brotherhood is. Svaela explains that while she was recovering, Rhys'Von would speak to Drathis with others with her at all times. She had seen at most, 3 or 4 others accompanying her. Ra'Giin studies in Samblar's laboratory in an attempt to control the lightning elemental. He and Samblar are unable to control it and Samblar takes the sphere and buries himself in research. Ra'Giin seeks out a tuning fork and a plane shift spell scroll. He is unable to find one in town, but does locate one within Samblar's study after a lengthy search.
While relaxing, Ridil hears a loud whisper coming from all around him that pleads for help.
Ephyra spends hours in the library attempting to find a lead as to what The Perpidexicon of Knaarge is. She researches Sheogorath, but doesn't seem to think this book has anything to do with him. She cannot find anything within the library that has to do with anyone named Knaarge or a Perpidexicon. She asks a mage in the library for assistance and he looks over the book with her. The mage is confused and asks if she is playing at a trick when he explains that there is no writing within the pages. Exasperated, she goes to her quarters, where she ponders the book more. As she turns the pages, more words, images and symbols begin to appear and soon the entire book is filled right before her eyes. Fiddling with the book, she discovers that the cover of the book is peeling off, of which she pulls and finds the true cover of the book, brown leather with a gold etched hand on the front. Her head is filled with an immense scream and the others, who have been in the common area, all hear whispers of pleas for help. They all go to Ephyras room, with Ra'Giin picking up the book to investigate it. As Ra'Giin opens the book, they all hear a voice asking for help and everyone sees the horrific images on the pages. Sal attempts to speak to the book, to which the voice responds. The room begins to spin and everyone feels dizzy...their vision goes black.
They all slowly awaken and find themselves in a dark area, dirt floor, with four figures standing before them. They all have bows and arrows on them and once they are awake, they begin their attack. Sal notices a red symbol on the cave wall behind them fading away. Ephyra recognizes the symbol from the book. Ridil immediately begins throwing punches at one of the men, who are Dunmer wearing Shroud armor. Ivar uses her new sword she acquired in Alinor that strikes her target then subsequently hits two other targets in range. Sixx cuts his hand, causing lightning to emit from his handaxe before attacking one of the Dunmer while Ra'Ginn raises an undead creature. The party continues in their fight with The Shroud archers when a large blue portal begins to open behind them. A figure steps out, one that Ephyra immediately recognizes. Her brother, Izmar, stunned to see his sister, becomes angered that she is there. Stopping his men from fighting, he asks Ephyra what she is doing there and what the hell she has done. He tells her that her and her friends are being hunted and that they need to find a way out of here as soon as possible. Ephyra attempts to converse with him, but he explains there is no time and goes back through the portal with the Shroud members.
The group discusses the situation as they make their way through tunnels trying to find their way out. They notice that there is a source of light, though this blue hue seems to come from the air, not a specific source. They come across a large bugbear named Ronk and two goblins named Stool and YukYuk. Ronk tells them he doesn't know the way out but does tell them they are in Coldharbour. The group asks Ronk how he came to this place. He tells them large chains came from the sky and he was pulled here. Ra'Giin sends out messages through his sending stones to Silas and Vredik asking for them to attempt portals to Coldharbor to get them out. He also tries to use his Plane Shift scroll, but it does not work. They decide Ephyra should cast sending to her brother. She does, asking him what he is doing there and how they are to get out. He responds, but is obviously speaking to someone else, calling this person ma'am and telling her that he has them apprehended just before the labyrinth. Ephyra remembers conversation during her time in the Spire between Ylora, Drathis and Rhys'Von, that Drathis used Rhys'Von to gain the orb that was kept in the Temple of Sithis. Once they had the orb, they were done with her. Ridil, in his time caring for Svaela, had overheard conversation as well. He remembers Rhys'Von and Drathis speaking about a promise Drathis had made to help her obtain what she wanted. Sithis worship was a front for her, Rhys'Von loved Molag Bal, even giving her life to become a lich in service to him. Rhys'Von wanted Molag Bal to reopen the anchors to drag Tamriel to Coldharbour, to which Drathis wanted her gone.
